【唐韻】兵永切【集韻】【韻會】【正韻】補永切，𠀤音丙。禾盈把也。【詩·小雅】彼有遺秉。【疏】秉，把也。【禮·聘禮】四秉曰筥。【註】此秉謂刈禾盈手之秉，筥穧名，今萊易閒刈稻聚把有名爲筥者。　又米數。【禮·聘禮】十斗曰斛，十六斗曰籔，十籔曰秉。又【小爾雅】鐘二謂之秉，秉十六斛。○按《儀禮》禾米之秉，字同𢿘異。惟徐氏《韻譜》二石爲秉，又是一說。蓋石卽斛也。冉子與粟五秉。據《儀禮》爲八十石，據徐氏止十石，多寡迥別，俟考正。　又執持也。【禮·禮運】天秉陽垂日，星地秉隂竅於山川。【詩·大雅】民之秉彝。【書·君奭】秉德明恤。　又去聲，陂病切。與柄同。【史記·天官書】二十八舍主十二州，斗秉兼之。【絳侯世家】許負相周亞夫曰：君後三歲而侯，侯八歲爲將相，持國秉。　又姓。○按《說文》秉，从又持禾，《正字通》兼載鐘鼎文𥝐字重出。𢿘字原从𡝤从殳。
