【廣韻】【集韻】【韻會】【正韻】𠀤他結切,音鐵。【玉篇】與飻同。貪食也。【左傳·文十八年】縉雲氏有不才子,貪於飮食,冒於貨賄,天下謂之饕餮。【註】貪財爲饕,貪食爲餮,卽三苗也。又【呂氏春秋】周鼎饕餮,有首無身。食人未咽,害及其身。又【正字通】古器有饕餮,垂腹,羸其面,坐則似人。下有若承盤者,敦彝器,止有獸面,無身,皆以寓戒也。◎按山海經所紀渾敦、窮奇、檮杌、饕餮,皆惡獸名,故取以爲四凶之號。 又【集韻】徒典切,音殄。義同。
